Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements

Johns Hopkins offers a variety of summer programs from pre-college to visiting undergraduates. See below for eligibility information regarding one or more of our programs.

Summer Term and Mini-Term

  • Must be at least 16 years old by the first day of the session
  • Have completed at least a year of high school
  • 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Proof of English proficiency for international applicants
    • Minimum 100 TOEFL score
    • Minimum 7.0 on each band of the IELTS English Language Test
    • Minimum 75 Duolingo English Test score
    • Two or more years of study at an English-medium school

Discover Hopkins and Summer Immersive

  • Must be at least 15 years old by the first day of the session
  • Have completed at least a year of high school
  • Have achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Proof of English proficiency for international applicants
    • Minimum 90 TOEFL score
    • Minimum 6.5 on each band of the IELTS English Language Test
    • Minimum 72 Duolingo English Test score
    • Two or more years of study at an English-medium school

 

Johns Hopkins EducationUSA Academy

  • Must be 15-17 years old
  • Must be an International High School Student
  • Native or Non-native advanced English speaker
    • Proof of English proficiency for international applicants

      2-week EducationUSA  plus College Writing
    • Minimum 90 TOEFL score
    • Minimum 6 on each band of the IELTS English Language Test
    • Minimum 70 Duolingo English Test score
    • Two or more years of study at an English-medium school

      2-week EducationUSA  plus Medical/STEM
    • Minimum 100 TOEFL score
    • Minimum 7 on each band of the IELTS English Language Test
    • Minimum 75 Duolingo English Test score
    • Two or more years of study at an English-medium school
